Along with exceptional reliability, the Node features an easy-to-program LCD screen, the ability to control a Master Valve, and uses standard Hunter controller programming with 3 programs and 4 start times per program. The array of programming options and rugged reliability make the Node a compact, but powerful irrigation controller with the flexibility of battery power. For that extra zone you have that's not wired to your present controller, simply purchase a NODE-100 and attach it to the valve quickly and easily. Or, if you're installing irrigation for the first time in an area that has no direct power access, simply order the Node factory-installed on a PGV 1 in.The first is that one 9V battery may not last through a season. The second is that it is difficult to know how much battery life a unit has left without laborious tracking. The Node solves both of these problems with two smart innovations: The option to add a second 9V battery for extended power, and a battery life-status indicator on the LCD display. With battery life guaranteed to last through an entire season and a constant power-level readout, the need for in-season replacement becomes eliminated, and allows operators to install a new battery only when it is absolutely necessary. For maintenance-free operation year-round, the optional Solar Panel can be added to Node quickly and easily. No moisture intrusion, even in flooded valve box environments Replace the battery. The NODE has the option to include 2 batteries for extended power, guaranteed to last through an entire season, eliminating the need to replace the battery in the middle of the season. Finally, it has the option of solar panels for consistent and enduring watering. Easy To Program With An Array Of Programming Options And Rugged Reliability This gives the NODE the unique ability to control a master valve for your entire sprinkler system without infringing on the capability of a smaller subsystem.http://alihuata.com/userfiles/broan-676-installation-manual.xml The NODE-100 also comes with a preinstalled solenoid, so you don't even need any drills or additional wires, allowing for easy installation in the valve box. 5 ways to augment your NODE-100: It also has rain sensor compatibility, standard hunter controller programming, and is compatible with Hunter Solar Panel maintenance-free operation to avoid the hassle of changing or replacing batteries. The NODE is the best option for in valve box or power-restricted installations.Order Today and get whatever you need, whether a single part of your system or the whole array. Lisa 5.0 out of 5 stars One day we noticed that our in-ground irrigation system went off on a day that it shouldn't.http://clinicamaxclin.com/images/brc-sequent-24-my07-manual.pdf Our HOA puts pressure in the lines only on certain days and sometimes as they test our sprinkler systems by putting pressure in the lines on a day that there shouldn't normally be pressure. If your sprinkler system goes off on that test day, they'll fine you. Once I popped the old NODE100 out of the ground I noticed that the display had water bubbles in it. If I tried to wake it up, it would respond incredibly slowly. At this point I knew that the water proof seal of the timer had been purged and it was shorting it out. The circuit board is completely potted and is not accessible without destroying it. I had no choice other than to replace it. I shut off the line by twisting the solenoid shut and ordered this timer as an exact replacement. It took a while to arrive but, it was well worth the wait. I set the timer to run for 30 minutes even through our HOA puts pressure in the lines for an hour. This is so my daughter can make it to the bus in the morning without getting drenched. This sprinkler timer has been working great for a couple months now. Its a little confusing to set up because, you can customize a lot about how it works. However, Hunter has a series of YouTube videos that will help you set up every aspect of this timer to how you want. Expect to have to check the batteries every year and expect the water proof seal to break after a couple years, however. Not cheap, however you get what you pay for and this is a quality option. I have use the older style previous models for years to control pasture sprinkler lines with no power available for conventional irrigation control timers. One 9V battery will last all season, maybe even 2 seasons, and this new style has the option to use two batteries for extended run. These are very reliable and I've only ever had one fail due to being submerged for a long period of time. The advantages of having a battery poweted controller are neutralized by the user interface. I do not recommend this product.http://www.holderit.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16285616a23598---Bushnell-voyager-with-sky-tour-manual.pdf I have a bhyve orbit for my other zones, the wifi based bhyve works like a charm. The great part is you don't have to run power out to the box but plan on replacing it often. Any programming it requires you to keep the manual handy.I have had to replace it in 2017 due to both battery connections being completed failed. A product of this cost should last longer. This was a replacement for the one I had purchased in 2008 (same company, similar product.)The other unit is around two years old, and one of the batteries connectors came off the unit when changing a battery this spring. So I guess that negates the advantage of having two batteries for longevityThis control is NOT inexpensive but is indispensable for remotes watering zones that can't be controlled by a 'wired' system. I give it a four-star rating because of the relatively high cost AND because this is the second Hunter node I've installed in the last three years. The first one would not 'shut off' at the end of the programming time. I would note also that programming this think is clunky and far from intuitive. Once programmed, however, it has been THE solution for my particular need.I use Hunter on all my commercial and residential properties. What's with these Node timers. Ball Valves The ball valve has a “ball” with a hole drilled through it. Turning the handle one-quarter turn lines this hole up with the piping and allows water to flow. Turn the handle back one-quarter turn to turn off the valve. This quick on-off action can cause water hammer problems in some systems, so to be on the safe side always turn a ball valve on and off slowly. Both the gate and ball valve work well for manual systems. Figure 3. Electric Valves The electric valve used with automatic timers is a diaphragm valve with a 24 volt AC solenoid. Apply 24 volts to the solenoid and the valve will open, remove the voltage and the valve will close. These valves also have a feature that will allow you to turn the valve on without electricity if necessary, but once manually turned on the valve must be manually turned off. Some homeowners are concerned about the electric wires in the yard used to connect the electric valves to the timer. The valve box is simply a small bucket with an easily-removed top, no bottom, and openings in the sides to allow pipe to run through. Valve boxes are installed with the top at ground level and are designed to allow lawn mowers to run over them with no damage. The tops are usually green to make them less conspicuous in the landscape. Any valve will require maintenance at some point, so always install them in valve boxes so that they can be easily found and repaired. Figure 5. Anti-Siphon Valve. All backflow prevention or anti-siphon devices have a number of small test ports to allow testing of the device. Backflow Preventers. All municipal water systems require some type of anti-siphon or backflow prevention device. This device prevents water in the irrigation system from re-entering and possibly contaminating the drinking water system. Each water system determines the type of device required for their system. The most common device is the double check valve. This is simply an assembly containing two check valves in series. The theory is that should one check valve fail, the second one will still operate and prevent backflow and possible contamination. Summary Irrigation systems may be operated manually with manual valves, or automatically with electric diaphragm valves and timers. All Arizona landscape irrigation systems require some type of backflow prevention device if they are connected to a municipal water system.
